Disney Vacation: Day 2

We woke up at 6am so that we had plenty of time to shower, repack and get our luggage out by 8am.

We went back to the Artists' Palette for breakfast. After we ate, Alexa stuck her feet in the zero entry pool for a little bit.

We went back to the room and packed up all of our carry-ons and headed over to the Congress Park playground.

When it was time, we walked back to the Carriage House to meet the Disney Cruise Line bus. The girls had fun watching some cartoons in the kid-sized waiting area.

The bus ride took about an hour and a half but we watched videos about the cruise and some cartoons. As we arrived at Port Canaveral we could see the Disney Dream in the distance and we were all very excited!

We hopped off the bus, went through a short security line, and went upstairs to check in. We got our "keys to the world" and then received the Mickey bands for Alexa and Caitlin. We looked at the super cool model ship - half is open so you can see all the inside rooms and mini-furniture and fixtures - just like a dollhouse.

Then we walked through the mickey ears, had our embarkation photo taken and boarded the ship.

As we entered the atrium, they announced our family and we went down one level and easily found our cabin #2038 in the hallway just behind the glass elevator. It made it very easy for the girls to find the cabin.

We went up to deck 11 to Cabanas for lunch and it was excellent! A lot of choices - all good - including fresh shrimp cocktail. Next it was time for the life boat drill at station I. After a quick drill on deck 4, we returned to the cabin to check on our luggage - only Alexa's bag had arrived. We went up on deck 12 and found a great spot to watch our sail away party. They handed out streamers for allof the kids and all of the characters came out to sing and dance. I particularly liked when Minnie and Daisy did the "Single Ladies" dance. Too funny!

When we returned to our cabin, our luggage had all arrived. We unpacked and got dressed for dinner. Our first night was in the Royal Palace restaurant. We were still a little full from lunch. The fillet was excellent.

After dinner, the kids visited the Oceaneer's Club and Lab and Rick and I went to see the District and then the first night's show - Golden Mickeys. We thought the show had some good parts - like Tarzan and pals on the vines - but overall the show was only ok. We found the girls in Andy's Room from Toy Story and went back to our room to go to bed after another exciting day.
